Tampa General Hospital (TGH) and Mass General Brigham (MGB) are partnering to open a radiation oncology center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
The 10,000-square-foot facility, set to open in early 2026, will provide expanded access to cancer treatment in the region.
Under the collaboration, Tampa General will oversee daily operations, while Mass General Brigham Radiation Oncology will manage quality and safety protocols. The center will focus on integrating advanced radiation oncology technology with a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

“This new center represents a significant evolution in the partnership between TGH and MGB, as we continue to execute our overall strategy to transform health care through innovation and collaboration,” said John Couris, president and CEO of Tampa General.
Located at Legacy Place, the facility is designed to address Florida’s growing cancer burden. The state has the second-highest number of new cancer cases annually in the U.S., according to the Florida Department of Health.
Mass General Brigham’s chief operating officer, Dr. Ron Walls, emphasized the need for expanding cancer care, stating, “As cancer rates continue to rise across the country at an alarming rate, so too has our ability to diagnose, treat, and improve outcomes.”
The initiative builds on an existing partnership between the two academic health systems, which have worked together for more than three years. TGH is Mass General Brigham’s first national clinical affiliate.
Dr. Abe Schwarzberg, Tampa General’s executive vice president and chief of oncology, highlighted the impact of the partnership: “By working alongside MGB to provide our patients with access to the expertise, experience, and research findings from two of the top academic health systems, we have the potential to make a significant impact on their treatment outcomes.”
The center will be co-branded and jointly owned by both institutions.
