OhioHealth has announced plans to construct a new comprehensive outpatient cancer center aimed at improving access to specialized cancer care and enhancing the patient experience.
The project will nearly double the size of the existing campus to approximately 500,000 square feet. The 199,000-square-foot cancer center will consolidate multiple services under one roof, including radiation oncology, medical and surgical oncology clinics, hematology, infusion, diagnostics, laboratory services, and specialized cancer clinics.
“This comprehensive cancer center will increase access to care for patients who are dealing with complicated and aggressive cancers,” said Dr. Praveen Dubey, vice president of cancer care at OhioHealth. “With the creation of this facility, we are making care more convenient for our patients and demonstrating that we know their care is a combination of clinical care and the experience every time they interact with us.”

Columbus Oncology and Hematology, a longtime partner of OhioHealth, will lease 30,000 square feet within the new facility to provide medical oncology, infusion services, and pharmacy support. The organizations have previously collaborated on the Dublin and Westerville cancer centers.
“Adding this third site together strengthens our long-term relationship with OhioHealth,” said Dr. Joseph Hofmeister, president of Columbus Oncology and Hematology. “This collaboration helps to support OhioHealth’s goal of keeping cancer care local while improving access to clinical trials, innovative therapies, and specialized services.”
OhioHealth, a Columbus-based not-for-profit health system, serves a 50-county area through a network of hospitals and ambulatory sites. Columbus Oncology and Hematology, a community-based practice, has been providing cancer and blood disorder care for over 37 years.
The facility will be built on the current south parking lot of OhioHealth’s administrative campus, across from Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2026, with the center opening in the spring of 2029. The development will include renovations to the current structure and the addition of a new parking garage.
OhioHealth plans to grow its cancer program staff by roughly one-third over the next decade, adding approximately 140 new positions.
