Odessa Regional Medical Center
Quorum Health has expanded its presence in West Texas through the acquisitions of Odessa Regional Medical Center in Odessa, and Scenic Mountain Medical Center in Big Spring.
The Brentwood, Tennessee-based company had been managing these hospitals since early September under an interim agreement, and now formally owns their operations and non-real estate assets.
The acquisition extends Quorum’s West Texas footprint, where it already runs Big Bend Regional Medical Center in Alpine, and increases its national network to 12 hospitals. According to Quorum CEO Chris Harrison, the company is committed to retaining the current workforce with improved compensation packages.

“Our goal is to build on the almost 50-year legacy of these hospitals while ensuring access to high-quality care,” Harrison said, emphasizing that patients should see no disruption in services during the transition.
Quorum’s strategy includes supporting local healthcare teams and making capital investments in the acquired facilities. The organization, which focuses on rural and mid-sized markets, aims to keep hospitals in these areas viable and sustainable through financial and operational improvements.
The acquisition is part of Quorum’s broader plan for growth, particularly in underserved regions, to address local healthcare needs.
