MXR Imaging will provide reconditioned diagnostic medical imaging solutions to Intalere members at negotiated prices with Intalere
Under a new agreement with MXR Imaging, Intalere members are gaining access to reconditioned diagnostic medical imaging equipment.
MXR Imaging will negotiate pricing on reconditioned diagnostic medical imaging systems, parts and suppliers with Intalere, giving its members access to various clinical applications and training.
“The depth and breadth of solutions that MXR can offer makes this agreement important and valuable to our members,” Maki Wahle, category lead of strategic sourcing at Intalere, told HCB News. “MXR consults with customers to design the best solution based on facility-specific needs, budget and functional requirements. Representing multiple manufacturers gives MXR the ability to sell the best-proven equipment for each situation.”

The arrangement also includes access to clinical engineering training programs for creating in-house service teams that can leverage MXR’s supply-chain and technical expertise. It also has education programs to help providers service their equipment internally. They include ultrasound basics, ultrasound boot camp and multivendor accreditation, as well as vendor- and equipment-specific classes for ultrasound, MR and CT and customized on-site training courses.
MXR Imaging,
formerly Merry X-Ray, is one of the largest independent providers of diagnostic imaging equipment sales, service, training, parts and supplies. This is partially due to the numerous acquisitions undertaken by the company over the years, including Oxford Instruments Healthcare, which it
acquired earlier this year for $15 million.
“As a full-service medical imaging company, MXR can deliver the equipment, do the installation, maintenance, perform warranty work, provide parts and even train the facilities’ engineers on maintaining the equipment,” said Wahle.
The contract is in effect until September 2023.
