Today Hitachi announced FDA clearance of two new additions to its Scenaria CT product line, the Scenaria SE 64 and SE 128. By mixing speed with ease of use and XR-29 compliance, the system is expected to appeal to facilities performing a high volume of scans.

"Scenaria SE demonstrates Hitachi's continuing commitment to provide compelling value-based CT solutions by enhancing the Scenaria Platform that is already recognized for premium 64/128-slice imaging technologies and exceptional patient accommodation features with added speed and ease of use capabilities," said Mark Silverman, director of CT marketing for Toshiba, in a statement.

Both scanners offer a 40 percent increase in standard Recon Speed (up to 50 images per second) and MPR Recon Speed with added automation of frequently used functions.
For customers who are already using Scenaria 128 systems under warranty, Hitachi is offering a full upgrade at no charge to the SE version.
