The Evident ablation system uses microwave energy to create more time-efficient ablations, with less dependence on tissue and tissue temperature than radiofrequency ablation (RFA). This makes microwave energy less susceptible to radiofrequency impedance and perfusion.

Evident MWA antennas can be used alone or in clusters providing a variety of techniques for ablation of multiple and large, nonresectable, soft-tissue lesions.

Minimized set up.

When using the Evident MW ablation surgical antenna, system set up is a three-step procedure: Connect the antenna to the generator, set power and set time.

Simultaneous antenna use.

Simultaneous activation of multiple Evident MW ablation antennas allows for a more time-efficient procedure, especially in patients with multiple lesions, compared to other ablation techniques, such as cryoablation and RFA.

Multiple-use antennas.

Evident MW ablation antennas are versatile, and can be used for hepatic tumor ablation, coagulation of tissue prior to resection, or both, all with Covidien ablation technology.
