The Qvella FAST System is a cutting-edge technology in microbiology designed to speed up the identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) of microorganisms directly from positive blood cultures (PBCs). Here are some key points about the system:

Rapid Isolation and Concentration: The FAST System isolates and concentrates microorganisms from PBCs, producing a Liquid Colony (LC) within 30 minutes12. This LC can be used for downstream testing, such as MALDI-TOF MS identification and rapid resistance detection.

Performance: Studies have shown that the FAST System provides high sensitivity and specificity for various tests. For example, it demonstrated a 97.4% concordance for Gram-positive bacteria identification and 95.7% for Gram-negative bacteria2. Condition & Testing

This system was manufactured in 2022 and is only 2 years old. It is in excellent cosmetic and power tested condition. It powers up fine and I can navigate the system without a password using the touch screen.... BUT.....when I try to access the Qvella software the touch screen turns red with the following message "Instrument has encountered a system failure. Please contact Technical Support" even though it states "Ready" in the corner of the screen? I have been unable to contact Technical Support. It looks like the Qvella website has been taken down. I don't have a clue what the issue is with Qvella or whether they are just taking a break or out of business? Due to being such new high end technology I still believe there is some value here to the right person. It is being sold for Parts and/or Repair with no return.
