Five Minutes in Healthcare is where I discuss current events with some of the industry's most influential leaders.
This week, I spoke with John Pereira, president of United Medical Tech Corporation, a Florida-based company that specializes in pre-owned diagnostic imaging equipment, about his traumatic first-person experience with Hurricane Ian, which destroyed his home of 30 years.
We discussed the role of insurance in the recovery process, what he would do differently, the impact of the hurricane on his business, and his gratitude for everyone who has reached out to him.
John shared some photos with me of the destruction, which he permitted me to post here:
For all the material possessions John lost in the hurricane, he and his family were very fortunate to come out of this disaster with their lives. One of the great things about John is his ability to recognize the big picture, and his gratitude in the wake of such a difficult experience is a testament to that.
