Siemens Healthineers unveils Symbia Pro.specta SPECT/CT system at SNMMI.
Following the green light from the FDA, Siemens Healthineers unveiled its Symbia Pro.specta SPECT/CT system at the SNMMI Annual Meeting in Vancouver, Canada.
The all-purpose solution provides low-dose CT scanning up to 64 slices, and automatic SPECT motion correction. It can be tailored for exams in cardiology, neurology, oncology, orthopedics and other areas.
The scanner is geared toward providers seeking to make the jump from SPECT-only gamma systems and early generation SPECT/CT systems, like Symbia Intevo, to more capable, modern solutions. “With CT, we get attenuation correction and localization. From SPECT, we get the functional Imaging aspect. When we fuse them together, we see anatomical landmarks. There's an improvement in image quality and in localizing the specific area of the disease,” Collin Schaeffer, global product marketing operations manager for Siemens Healthineers, told HCB News.

The scanner features myExam Companion and an intelligent user experience with myExam Prep, which includes one-click start-up and shutdown, a redesigned interactive patient positioning monitor, enhanced quality control procedures, and a bedside planning tool for personalizing care prior to exams.
